Hi I am Maddi a 200 hour certified yoga asana instructor, a Somatic Counselor, and a non-profit consultant. I love working with individuals and groups; helping them to discover themselves through movement and meditation. I believe that yoga is a tool that can help to empower individuals and communities by embodying their experiences and strengthening their innate intuition.
I have a background in human and community development with a BA from Hanover College, and two years serving with AmeriCorps Public Allies. I have a passion for helping individuals and communities to thrive and I hope to bring that passion to every class I facilitate. As a former Public Ally, service, leadership, and social justice are all very important to me. And I continue to explore the intersection between wellness and social justice.
Presently, I am making a big life transition after graduating with a MA in Somatic Counseling Body Psychotherapy from Naropa University. Somatic counseling and the contemplative practices from Naropa continue to influence my teachings. I will continue to offer public classes through June of 2024, after this time I will be moving and considering what teaching looks like in my next phase of life. Yoga as a practice will also be personal and influential to me, and now I am considering what that might look like as my community and career develop and change.
Personally, I am a dog mom, wife, sister, and friend. I love all things Shonda Rhimes. I love to read and listen to books. I like to travel, especially to Disney World. I love a good cup of tea and a chat. And I love to learn, especially in group settings.
My house is filled with lots of dogs and lots of love.
My family means to world to me.
My community gives me life.
