My story has been shaped by those who came before me. Who I am as a teacher and practitioner is influenced by the people around me. Learn more about the influences on my yoga journey.
My formal yoga education training took place in 2019 with CITIYOGA School of Yoga and Health. My teachers where Marsha Pappas and Dave Sims. In addition to my 200 hour training, I have also attended the Awakened Leadership Course: Anti-Racism for Wellness Leaders training through Radically Awaken taught by Charlie Redd and Lauren Roberts. Finally, my contemplative and somatic education from Naropa University radically shifted the way I teach and practice.
Due to my education my yogic lineage is most associated Hatha yoga, Swami Satchidananda in particular. Outside of my lineage and formal teachers, Gaynell Collier-Magar was my first teacher when I moved to Indianapolis. Not only did her teaching inspire me, but if it were not for her loving push I would not be a teacher today.
In addition to teachers and colleagues, there are many influential yoga leaders that I follow and draw inspiration from. These teachers include: Susanna Barkataki, Tejal Patel and Jesal Parkih, Melissa Shah, and Stefanie Tovar.
